possibly: Any product when given in excess could have negative effects.I have seen infants force fed the product develop profuse diarrhea that only stopped when it was limited. If it is given for an extended period with no form of nutrition, the infant will develop starvation. It is a safe and effective hydration solution when used as part of a balanced treatment plan.
