Big difference: Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, they don't even have to have taken any courses of study. A dietician has a college degree and specialization in dietetics and food. A physician nutrition specialist who is a board certified physician who has done specific training in nutrition.

They can assist in the treatment of diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and digestive problems, just to name a few. They attend five years of college and often have Master's degrees as well.
