A member asked:

Are garcinia cambogia & lexapro (escitalopram) safe together?

Lexapro (escitalopram) and garcinia: Very rare side effects have included a drop in white cell counts, pneumonia, and liver difficulties. As with anything in medicine you have to decide whether the risk is less then the benefit. Please discuss this with your family practitioner or psychiatrist as well.

No: These two medicines can have negative interactions so not advisable to combine them, also make sure you had normal liver panel before taking garcinia cambogia as a substance in it called hydroxycitric acid (HCA) can harm your liver.
