Acupuncture can be: Used to help with inflammation, pain ; infection in this setting. Sterile, single use disposable needles are used. Infection rate with acupuncture is very tiny due to small diameter of needle and solid bore (vice open bore). It should be noted that needles are not placed into infected tissue.
