Sometimes: If the root canal is necrotic(infected) sometimes a post-op swelling may occur.
This does happen occasionally.
But only in a small% of cases.

Root canal swelling: Your cheek would only swell if you have an infected/abcessed tooth. If your root canal is finnished you should return to the dentist who treated you.
