Just one cause: Aphthous ulcers ("canker sores") are primarily immune in origin, happen in both males and females, and can be caused by stress, medications, genetics, trauma, and hormones. The hormone fluctuations in early pregnancy can result in ulcers, but are not a "sure sign." they can be alleviated with help from your dentist with medications and/or laser therapy.
