Autism doctor: Many differen types of doctors treat autism. A pediatrician or family medicine doctor is often the first to suspect a problem. Developmental pediatricians, psychiatrists and neurologists are all involved in various aspects of treatment. Many other health care providers especially aba's, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists are involved.

Confusing question: There are few if any doctors that only deal with autism. Within the treating universe for this condition are primary care docs, pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, psychiatrists, speech pathologists, applied behavior analysts, and the list goes on.

Varied Physicians: Could be your general Pediatrician, we are all skilled in early diagnosis, many pediatricians diagnose autism and continue to follow these kids. Pediatric neurologists and pediatric psychiatrists have deep experience caring for children with developmental disorder as well.
