Soccer safety tips: Soccer safety to avoid broken bones/concussions. Gear-soft molded cleats, shin guards, soccer socks, mouthguards. Keep kids in shape, warm up and stretch before, during, after games. Inspect the field surface for holes. Know and obey the rules of soccer. Have them stay focused and pay attention. Learn fundamental good technique esp. With heading the ball.

Variety=Fun & Safe: Agree with dr. S's great tips. Also would add: variety. Mix up activities. Do other things besides soccer. Follow the seasons & play other sports. Kids who play only one sport year round use only certain sets of muscles and are more prone to injure themselves [like acl tears of their knee]. Also they may burn out. Let's keep it safe and fun.
