Bug bites: Any allergic reaction to a bug bite can itch however, spider bites, and deer fly are less likely to cause an allergic reaction than fire ants, mosquitos, or chiggers. Some 'bites' are not really bites at all, but rather the discomfort comes from a sting such as: fire ants, bees wasps and scorpions.

? dear flies: As far as i know those may be the only bug bites that hurt only and not itch: dear flies, other bug bites like fire ants hurt and itch, spider bites are usually painless but toxic, at any rate cold packs and pain killers would suffice if any other symptom medical attention need to be sought.
