A member asked:

Does a constant cough mean cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually no: Constant cough can be due to many things: asthma, allergy, bronchitis, pneumonia. After an episode of bronchitis, persistent coughing can last for several weeks. In only a minority of cases that it is associated with cancer, even in smokers. However, if you have a cough that does not seem to go away (especially if you are a smoker, or has weight loss ect...), you should see your doctor.
