Hysteroscopy: Asherman's syndrome is a condition characterized by adhesions and/or scarring of the lining of the uterus, most often associated with dilation and curettage. Operative hysteroscopy is used for visual inspection of the uterine cavity during adhesion dissection (adhesiolysis). In some cases, placement of uterine balloons to expand the cavity may also be necessary to minimize recurrent adhesions.
