Depends on type: Some people may not be aware that they have a speech problem, e.g. Lisp. Stutterers/stammerers are aware of it. Some stroke victims are very aware of garbled speech. Others are fluent, make no sense, and are completely unaware. Sometimes the speech problem is associated with hearing issues.
