Focal pain: If your pain is always in the same location, but always present, you may have a hernia. An epigastric hernia typically is midline, above umbilicus and small. Okay to ask your regular doc for an ultrasound of the area, which could be diagnostic. There are several other possible diagnosis, so take a friend with you, to help with the visit. Be well.
