Yes: Nerve and other kinds of pain may benefit from acupuncture. Results can sometimes be very impressive. But this art as well as science, depending on patient characteristics, underlying problem, diagnostic skills, needle techniques. Some people do not benefit at all.

It depends: Nerve pain is a special class of pain that usually requires specific treatments-ie-medications specifically developed for treatment of nerve pain. However, as long as there are no "red flag" symptoms (loss of sensation or movement in an extremity), go ahead and give it a try.
