Yes: Sternal bone pain is frequently musculoskeletal in origin. If the pain can be produced or worsened by pushing on sternum (or more commonly on the joint where the rib attaches to the sternum), then it is likely due to nerves, muscles, and / or bones. Angina pain is not usually reproducible by sternal pressure. If there are any doubts, please see a doctor immediately.

It's possible.: Sometimes ones chest wall (muscles or cartilage) is tender, especially the cartilage on either side of the breast bone (sternum) and the cartilage at the lower end of the sternum (that's called costochondritis). However, worrisome pain would be be chest pain which occurred predictably with physical exertion (that's termed "angina" and could represent coronary artery narrowing or insufficiency).
