Your son's age?: Think of it more as a diaper rash, than a problem and adult male would have. A baby in diapers doesn't know what a testicle is. He just knows that he hurts a bit. Treat it like a diaper rash. If it doesn't improve, see your pediatrician.

Could B scrotal pain: Common for toddlers to refer to any discomfort in genitalia as "penis hurts" because that's word they know. So might have testicular, scrotal, hydrocele or hernial pain. Also many toddlers complain of penile pain when they have an erection. Red discoloration might be from diaper rash. But good to have it checked by pediatric Dr. 2B on safe side unless everything has settled down.
