Good question: Good question, as some work has been done on lower vertebrates (not humans) trying to learn about response to catecholamines in embryogenesis. http://tinyurl.com/ogu9bn7 the existing work does hint that receptors for these neurotransmitters are active very early in rat embryos, and they ; their synthesizing enzymes are in female rats' reproductive systems. We don't yet know about humans.
