See below: A balanced diet is still the best way to gain weight, together with increasing muscle tone. Additional protein during exercise can help this. Don't forget to drink fluids. Medication used for wt gain are usually just used for people who have very poor appetite like pts going thru chemo. Good luck.

Eat healthy high : Calorie foods. Eat 6 meals/day. Work on strength training to build your large muscle groups. Workout w heavier weights w fewer repetitions. Sleep at least 8 to 9 hrs/night.
