Good question: The kiss probably evolved for the very purpose of spreading germs. Yes, the mouth is filthy full of microbial life. Bacteria. Viruses. But you can think of a kiss as a vaccination of sorts. Spreading small, benign quantities of these microbes that may help to boost immune systems and/or foster good normal bacteria growth in the gut.
