Yes, it is possible: Some wisdom teeth erupt into the mouth without problems. Other wisdom teeth that are trying to erupt into the mouth or those that may be partially exposed may present problems with a localized infection (pericoronitis) which may present with pain, swelling, elevated temps and if severe, lymph node involvement.
