Wisdom teeth: If wisdom teeth are erupting it can cause pain in the area of the jaw near the ear. If the gum tissue around the erupting teeth, usually lower wisdom teeth, becomes infected, it can cause swollen lymph nodes. If you are having these symptoms, see your dentist for an examination, and to check for causes. You may have an infection elsewhere in your mouth.
