I've been itching lately in the vaginal area but no discharge and the smell seems to change from a fishy to a rubbery smell?

It sounds like: Bacterial vaginosis which is usually accompained by discharge. It has that odor and it may not be signifiacnt enough to have a discharge. It is very common. Stay away from thongs and get seen if persistant. An antibiotic called metronizadole will help, good luck.
