I have a rash on the front of my shin. looks like ringworm but has scales in the middle & looks/feels dry. size of a quarter. has grown very slowly?

Dermatitis: Well, from your description, ring worm is a possibility. To test your hypothesis, apply an otc antifungal cream such as lotrimin (clotrimazole) 1% to the area twice daily for 4 weeks. If it is not gone, you were wrong! the differential diagnosis at this point would be quite long, but the most likely diagnoses would be psoriasis, contact dermatitis, or eczema. Go see your dermatologist!
