Yellow nail: The pain may be caused by some type of infection under the nail. A. Nail that is yellow and falling of may indicate a fungus and it is possible there could be a secondary bacterial infection under the nail as well. Seek care with a podiatrist as soon as you can to make sure there is no infection present.
