Trigger finger: A true trigger finger, named so because it appears that you have your finger placed on the trigger of a gun, usually needs surgical correction. This can be performed by an orthopedist or plastic surgeon.

trigger finger doesn't always require surgery in most cases a steroid injection can alleviate the triggering however.....the injection is best performed by a hand surgeon!!
