Infection v Inflamm: Inflammation is a term referring to the body's reaction to a noxious stimulus, that can be trauma, allergy, tumor, infection, drug reaction, etc. Infection is a condition due to invasion of some area of the body by a critter other than a human (bacteria, virus, fungus, parasite, etc.). Inflammation = redness, pain, warmth, swelling, etc. If unclear, ask again. Good luck.
