A member asked:

Doctors, when they say victoza (liraglutide) slow stomach emptying, what exactly does that mean? does mean my stomach will always have food in it..

Not always: Means that your stomach moves more slowly. If you don't eat for a while all food will eventually leave. Most common cause is uncontrolled diabetes. Make sure you have really good control of your blood sugar. This may help improve the slow stomach.

Victoza slows down how fast food leaves the stomach after having a meal, which helps to better control blood sugars after meals for diabetes and may result in decreased appetite due to feeling full for longer and possibly sooner. This does not mean the stomach will always have food in it.
