Yes, but why?: An old wives' tale said that free radicals created by h2o2 (peroxide) would kill bacteria and cure gum disease. Paul keyes, in the 70s, added baking soda to try to solve tooth decay. It's been largely debunked--there's not enough of either one in commercial products to do much good. As a homemade preparation, you can boost h2o2 concentrations, but fda warnings exist: google it.
