What is this hashimoto's thyroiditis condition?

Antibody to thyroid: It is an autoimmune disorder - meaning, for reasons we don't fully understand, the body makes antibodies against the thyroid. This causes a low grade inflammation which over time can make the thyroid underactive. It is the most common cause of hypothyroidism.
