A member asked:

What does a counselor do if the client does not want therapy to end?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

a shared decision: The decision to continue or discontinue therapy should be a shared decision between therapist and patient. It makes sense to continue so long as therapist and patient both agree it is beneficial, or likely to be beneficial . If there is disagreement, this is something patient and therapist need to discuss and resolve.
