Not liver but kidney: Chronic use non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen can cause kidney damage.

No toxic effect: 600 mgm of ibuprophen will not cause liver toxicity unless one already has liver disease.Check with your doctor if it is safe for you to take for long period of time, but for short period it may be ok.
