What is alara for?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ALA-PDT: I think you mean ala-pdt which is a treatment for acne (vulgaris). It involves the use of a product called amino levulonic acid (ala) which is absorbed by actively dividing cells like chemotherapy. The medication makes these cells very sensitive to specific light frequencies. When the treated skin is exposed t the light (pdt) the effected cells die.
