See below: Evaluation starts with review of the history and a physical exam. An electrocardiogram is performed. If the symptoms are still present (chest pain) and the history is suspicious, hospitalization is advisable. Stress test?: If the doctor did a stress test and/or coronary angiogram which were normal, then the symptoms are due to something else. If no cardiac evaluation was or will be done, then get a second opinion with another cardiologist.
