Many & yes: Ptsd is characterized by greater-than-would-be-expected responses to reminders of a traumatic event. Flashbacks, anxiety, running-away behaviors & sometimes combative behaviors can occur. People with ptsd often withdrawl somewhat in an attempt to avoid reminders of the traumatic event. Sx can vary from person to person. Proper diagnosis & care are important-please see a doctor to discuss in detail.

Very variable.: I agree with dr. Dowd. This illness of mind, body & soul causes hypervigilance, avoidance of people, places & things that act as triggers as well as reliving. Simple ptsd is associated with one or few traumatic events. Complex ptsd is related to repeated traumas with other complicating factors. Ptsd may be mild or severe. There may or may not be accompanying psychotic symptoms.
