Basophil: Basophils are one of the types of white cells in the blood. They contain histamine and leukotriene which are released due to infection, inflammation or allergic reaction. There are many reasons for elevated basophils and can be from any inflammatory condition. Elevation in white cells is usually a transient finding. Follow up with your doctor is recommended.
