What are some possible treatments for varicose vein disease?

Elastic stockings: Surgery is the last option , avoid prolonged passive standing, if pregnant after delivery they will improve, wear elastic stocking as much as possible, while watching tv, or sitting try to elivate the feet if possible.

Conservative : Treatment includes exercise, weight loss, leg elevation, and compression hose. Laser ablation or removing the veins surgically are other options.

A combination: Spider veins are most commonly treated with sclerotherapy. If you have vein disease, a combination of things is often used. With varicose veins, it important to have an ultrasound of your veins to see if there is any underlying vein trouble that is causing your visible veins. This is usually treated with endoveneous laser or rf. The rest can be treated with phlebectomy, sclerotherapy, or both.

4 choices.: I offer patients 4 choices: 1. Do nothing since treatment is elective. This seems unrealistic since it will worsen over time. 2. Support hose to buy time and reduce venous pressure. 3. Sclerotherapy-but this is not ideal treatment for varicose veins. 4. Full venous evaluation with venous reflux sonogram and, if leaking valves, then laser closure with microphlebectomies.

Once done if bulging varicose then thermal ablation may be best option ,other choices include foam sclerotherapy,or clariven- mechanical chemical ablation If only spider veins then sclerotherapy is best option
