Can be a few months: It can take a few months for your cycle to regulate after stopping birth control, or it may become regular right away. You can get pregnant even the first month off of the pills. If cycle is still irregular after a few months, see doctor.

A 22-year-old female asked:
My dr. Prescribed me loestrin 1/20 but the pharmacy gave me microgestin1/20(generic?). Is this ok? Or should I take it back. It's my 1st time on bc.

It's ok: The generic has the exact same hormones in the exact same amounts as the brand loestrin does. I've dispensed much more microgestin than loestrin, and haven't had any complaints about it, so i would feel perfectly comfortable using it in place of the brand loestrin.
