How long does it take for thyroid medication to start working?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Synthroid (thyroxine) medication: It will take about two weeks after starting medication to start feeling any difference. Around four weeks, the medication will reach its final level. Your doctor should check TSH and free T4 at 4-6 weeks after starting the medication. Your doctor may need to adjust your medication based on the labwork, either less or more dosage in synthroid (thyroxine).
