Depends on herb: Herbal supplements are not all the same, and the time required for your body to process them differs too. If you can please specify which herbs you're asking about, we can try to be more helpful here.

How can I take herbal supplements safely?

By being careful: If you are taking any medicines, you need to check with your doctor before beginning supplements. Don't over do. More is not necessarily better, and is sometimes distinctly worse. On the other hand, taking too little is often worthless and ineffective. Use a reputable, good quality supplement, and follow the dosing directions exactly.
