A member asked:

How high the keratin has to be to need dialysis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Kidney function: Creatinine , not keratin, is a substance excreted by the kidney.High levels in blood may indicate decreased kidney function. Usually creatinine level is plugged in a formula , to calculate the kidney function. If the kidney function is less than 10-25%, usually dialysis is planned. If the creatinine rises from 0 .8 to 1.6, it means 50% decline in kidney function.
