A member asked:

Does hyperthyroid cause sleep apnea?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: There is one mechanism whereby sleep apnea can because by hyperthyroidism. This would involve a hyper thyroid goiter. These in and of themselves are not all that common. The goiter would have to somehow occlude the upper airway by pressing against the esophagus. This is a rare situation but i did come across at least one case report.
