A member asked:

Is weight gained while pregnant more and more with next pregnancies?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe: Weight gain is composed of three compartments in pregnancy: the baby and fluid; water retention; and fat. Generally, babies are bigger with subsequent pregnancies, so a little goes to the baby. If there are some biochemical or hormone issues, more water retention is possible. But fat is fat, and its 1 pound for every 3500 calories beyond what you need. So keep calories controlled.
