"Distressed"?: I'm not sure what you specifically mean, since "distressed" may cover any reaction from irritated to disappointed to alarmed to enraged, etc. You would need to describe what you're seeing as well as the events leading up to it. Actually it's best to ask the person himself or herself what s/he's experiencing, if s/he can tell you. It can also mean someone is in pain and has no words to describe.
