Neurology: If you are seeing a primary care doc such as family medicine, make an appointment to see a specialist.  A neurologist has more experience and expertise in diagnosing and treating migraines.  There are many treatment options, including Botox injections.

Both drugs: Are CNS depressants and as such therapy has to be closely monitored. Take only if so prescribed by your doc and monitor for side effects as instructed by your pharmacist.

i've taken 7.5mg zopiclone + 5mg valium & 2 x 30/500 cocodamol for sleep but it is ineffective. i've now had amitriptyline & tramadol. is this safe?

Not Safe!: It is never safe to combine these medications. Talk to your doctor about your insomnia. You need a careful evaluation in order to obtain an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Polypharmacy is never safe! We lose too many young people each year due to unintentional overdose. Be safe and work with your doctor.

: It is stated that zoplicone may increase the central nervous system depressant effects of amitriptyline. This would be of special concern in the older people. Side effects of dizziness &amp; drowsiness are listed with the combination and, thus, there would be concern for driving,operating machinery, etc the next morning.

Shingles: Zolpidem = ambien not a good medicine in my opinion it masks the underlying problem and is extremely addictive. Amitriptyline (Elavil) on the other hand is a neuropathic pain med that is FDA approved for shingles. Start at 10mg about 1 1/2 hrs before bed and increase dose slowly with your docs help until your pain is tolerable and you are sleeping thru the night. Many AE that improve w/ time GB

Be cautious : Zopliclone, amitriptyline and cocodamol would interact with each other, you want to reduce the dosage or eliminate the unnecessary, the gauifenesin is fine, good that you asked, always exercise caution with multiple medications

No severe drug-drug: No drug-drug interaction, but when taken together there is increase risk of sedation, falls, dry mouth and constipation. Avoid or limit alcohol intake while on this combination. Keep your appointments with your doctor for continuous care and evaluation of your therapy.  Stay safe.

Prednisone: Prednisone does suppress the Immune system.  However it depends on how much and for how long.  As a rule within 2 to 4 weeks your immune system should bounce back to normal. People on prednisone or recovering from being on prednisone usually do no have to avoid people.
