what does it mean to have a suppressed immune system? e.g the immune system was suppressed by prednisone? does it mean that you have to avoid people?

Prednisone: Prednisone does suppress the Immune system. However it depends on how much and for how long. As a rule within 2 to 4 weeks your immune system should bounce back to normal. People on prednisone or recovering from being on prednisone usually do no have to avoid people.
