Talk to doc: If anxiety is causing insomnia, then yous should consult your doctor or psychiatrist to find out the cause.  Sleeping pill alone would not be your answer, you need to tackle the cause.

Mucolytics: Antihistamines and Mucinex (guaifenesin) or other mucolytics work best. Decongestants may once blood,pressure and anxiety.  Generally antihistamines are not recommended due to making mucous stickier.
Drink lots of liquids, teas and chicken soup!

Be cautious: You already are on hydroxzine, which is an antihistaminic, many cold medicines would contain an antihistaminic too, combining them would cause CNS depression. Doxycycline, an antibiotic, might not work, as you can very well have a viral upper respiratory problem. Saline nasal wash, and salt water gargles, if  sore throat, will help, if no improvement in a day or two, see your doctor,

Quit, and soon.: Are you really concerned that quitting smoking will affect your medications? The list of reasons to quit smoking is so long, and the potential benefits so great, any minor effect on your medications is negligible. If you are very concerned about this talk with the doctor who prescribed your Lamictal and Zoloft (sertraline). Regardless, at your age, if you stop smoking, your life will be so much better.

yesterday i went cold turkey from 125 mg zoloft (sertraline) and .5 mg risperidone and am feeling weird.  will i hallucinate i don't want to take drugs anymore?

Must restart meds: My firm and immediate recommendation is that you go back on your medication so that you don't have any type of withdrawal symptoms at all. Hallucinations are absolutely no fun. Your dose of Risperidone is very low and you're on a very moderate dose of zoloft (sertraline). If you're having difficulty with side effects of the medication please contact your psychiatrist to discuss it with him immediately. Never stop the medication precipitously on your own. Best wishes.

been on zoloft since 11/5. took 25mg on sunday, 50 mg on monday, tuesday and wednesday. how do i taper off this drug appropriately. it's side effects are too much. doctor is fine with me going off of it but said i should just stop cold turkey. ?

Follow Advice of MD: Since you just started the drug Zoloft 4 days ago.You don't have to taper it and can stop it cold turkey if you can not tolerate this drug.FOLLOW YOUR DOCTOR'S ADVICE

i'm on 200mg zoloft (sertraline) for sad. i've been on it for 3+ months with no noticeable changes. what medication would be ideal to switch to?

Treatment options: The best treatment for sad is the combination of phototherapy and medication.  Zoloft is on of the ssris which have been used.  The others include Paxil and prozac.  Effexor (venlafaxine) which is a snri has also been used.  Wellbutrin xl may help prevent depressive episodes in people with a history of sad. 
Last but not least psychotherapy can be employed.
