Sore throat: Must often due to virus (use Cold Eeze zinc lozenges: see eyedoc2020@blogspot.com to see how to use) but if still terrible pain in throat, get strep test to be sure. Otherwise, use humidifier, drink 64oz per day, use Netti pot.

Antibiotics can: Antibiotics such as Azithromycin can cause diarrhea. They change the normal flora of the colon. Probiotics that contain acidophilus and bifidobacter will help if taken while on antibiotics because they reestablish the normal bacterial balance in the colon.

Sure: I'm not sure that Zithromax will help unless you have (bacterial) strep throat.  But, Motrin and Zithromax are not contraindicated. Although you might have more relief with Aleve (naproxen) - as it lasts a little bit longer.  Just don't overdo it with the pain therapies - as they increase the risk for a GI ulcer, talk to your doctor if you need it for more than a few days.  Hope you feel better &amp; good luck!

im taking flonase (the generic version) for a sinus infection. i also am taking azithromycin which is giving me diarrhea. can i take ibuprofen also?

Perhaps: Off greater concern is the azithromycin, an antibiotic. Antibiotics sometimes induce change in the intestinal bacterial flora and allow a diarrhea-causing bacteria to take over and cause severe diarrhea.  The name of the bacteria is clostridium difficile, and you need to see a doctor and have this checked.
