my motherinlaw is allergic to bactrim sulfa drugs. they have her zinc sulfate and she broke out in rash. i thought sulfate was different. why rash?

New allergy: You are correct that there is not a relationship between sulfa and sulfate, but some patients can develop an allergy to other things, or the rash is unrelated to the zinc sulfate.  Rashes really need to be seen to be accurately diagnosed.

good day.i would like to by self medication for immune booster.ive got vitamin c and vitamin d and zinc zn.am i on the correct path ?

Immune booster : In order to boost the immune system, I recommend a low inflammatory diet. Avoid sugar, alcohol, high animal fats. 
In addition, I recommend eating lean proteins fish, egg whites, lentils, beans. (small portions each meal) . Drink extra water. eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Manage stress, exercise,  sleep well,  plenty of hugs.   High vitamin d levels in the body are helpful for COVID-19

currently on 50mg doxycycline for 6 weeks and my skins so much worse. i am also taking famvir (anti-viral) medication and a zinc supplement. do i need to stop taking the zinc + famvir for the doxy to work correctly and quickly??

: In that dose, probably you're on doxycycline for acne. It can take several weeks for improvement to be obvious. Zinc and famciclovir (Famvir) do not interfere with doxycycline. Discuss all this with the doctor who prescribed it.

i have a bitter taste on just my lips. can taking zinc or d3 or prebiotic or vitamin c cause this. i used mouthwash to try and get rid of it but no help. i take alot of medication could that cause it help i can't stand the taste anymore. i drink wat?

: OTC trial by omission. Start with the Zinc. Discontinue it's use for a week. If the bitter taste disappears, you'll know Zinc's the culprit. If taste does not change, restart Zinc and discontinue D3, etc. If you discover the cause, contact your GP to report your findings. DO NOT discontinue any of your prescribed Meds before first getting clearance from your MD/DO

No: I looked on a medication interaction checker and these do not appear to interact with each other.  You can take then all at the same time or in any combination you choose.

Industry vs dietary: Zinc sulfate is a chemical in dyes and pigments.  The zinc in dietary supplements include zinc oxide, zinc gluconate and zinc acetate.

I don't think so: I believe the treatment for trachoma which is an infection of the eye by chlamydia trachomatis is either Azithromycin or tetracycline  eye ointments.  I have not heard of zinc sulfate as a treatment.

Zinc: Usually it is used if you have a zinc deficiency or for wound healing.  We use it many times after certain surgeries to promote healing.
