Don't try it: Taking zinc tablets isn't going to make your armpits smell any better. Your job is at risk if you stink, and they will fire you without telling you why. The 'pop' claim that mainstream deodorants are terrible for you was made up by crooks.

Do others notice?: Is it "fishy"?  Certain genetic conditions can cause this.  You should see a doctor if you have not already.  You're doing all the right things already.  If no one else notices it (ask your mother), then may not be worth worrying about.
