On abdomen: This is a very safe device because it's using a very low level laser. Just be sure that it's aimed at the torso and not towards the head or eyes. Problem with it being so low level is that it does not destroy the fat the way other true fat melting devices (ie: liposonix, ultrashape, zeltiq) do. Zerona needs to be coupled with diet and exercise to work.

Not liposuction: Zerona is not liposuction. It is a low level laser device that can help reduce circumference of the waistline if coupled with diet and supplements for 2 weeks. It does not work without the diet and exercise. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes fat permanently thru a cannual that is inserted under the skin to suction out the fat.

No: Zerona lipolaser is never necessary, not before or after a lipo.  If you didn't get good enough results with a lipo to make you happy, you will likely be best served by going back to do lipo again.  On it's own Zerona has a 28% "worth it" rating on RealSelf.com.  I have never spoken to a patient who was happy with the results they got with Zerona.  I do not offer this treatment at all.

That : That is a good question.  Zerona should not be confused with liposuction or laser liposuction. It does utilize low level laser light therapy, but is non-invasive. It has limited to no downtime and the therapy is applied over six 40 minute sessions over a 2 week period. It does have an effect, though mild, but may be something to look at for your problem areas.  Some studies show about a one inch reduction per area, so the effects are mild and not as pronounced as classic liposuction.
